Why is Google Calendar #1 for the Search Term “Agenda”?

Whenever I conduct searches through google, (this happens a whole lot in my day) in the back of my mind is always, why are they number 1?
For example, today I was searching for the term “Agenda” and up cameGoogle Calendar as #1 in the SERP. (Search Engine Results Page)
Why are they number 1?
After some link research I saw that Google France is part of the answer.
Google Agenda France
Here are the reasons why I believe Google Calendar is #1 for the term “Agenda”.
  • It’s a Google Property so they are always ranked higher ;)
  • http://www.google.com/calendar has a PR (Google Page Rank) of 8/10.
  • Another Google Property is Named “Google Agenda” – Google France, when users go to Google Calendar they are directed to the Local version of the Google Calendar Property.
  • The Google Propertyhttp://www.google.com/intl/fr/googlecalendar/program_policies.htmlis linking to Google Calenda
    • Agenda is used in the Title.
    • An H4 heading is being used on the page with the term included, “Règlement du programme Google Agenda”
    • The text on the page is using the term “Agenda” several times in the paragraphs.
    • The Text “Google Agenda” is being used to describe the image link and it’s linking to Google Calendar.
There are several more reasons why but those are the quick and dirty reasons.
Then further research with Google Translate tells me that, agenda in French means diary. Not really sure what all that means, as I am not versed in French.
